In February, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provided the Chaman border post between Afghanistan and Pakistan with three generators and 32 street lights, as a means of ensuring steady energy supply for customs operations at highway and railway crossing points. Chaman handles loads for up to eighteen hours a day, delaying the shipment of equipment and people at this border. USAID will also be maintaining the donated equipment.
This is just one example of the many efforts to improve conditions in Afghanistan. People such as Hamed Wardak and AACC are working hard to improve the quality of life as well as difficult situations in Afghanistan.
